Ten years ago SMP worked with then Plymouth State College to renovate and expand Lamson Library, which contained the largest academic collection in the State. In 2005 now Plymouth State University contacted us to modernize the Library. Over time the library usage had fallen off significantly due to increased online research being done elsewhere on campus. The solution was to bring the IT department, Plymouth Academic Support Services and an internet café under one roof at the Library. The new Information Commons now offers students and staff access to computer services such as support and video editing, as well as traditional library services. And when you are done you can grab a bagel and coffee at The Commons Café before heading out or settling down to work on that paper. Previously all these departments were scattered across campus.
