| There
were several organizing principles which gave the building its
final form: |
- Use of traditional New
England mill features and materials on the exterior.
- Continuation of an exposed
structure, loft feeling to the interior.
- Narrow floor plates to keep
all locations within 30 feet of a natural light source.
- Pod-like working areas based
on team organization clustered around a central common
space where people could come together.
- A central atrium to
visually connect the three floors and bring natural light
to the core of the building.
- A pinwheel plan of arms
extending from the core to create an asymmetrical,
informal composition and to allow the exterior brick to be
viewed from inside the building.
