Walk through previous home next    The charge to Sheerr McCrystal Palson was to make over the old offices and add a larger wing for the missing functional spaces, namely garages, sally port, booking room, adult and separate juvenile cells, and secure evidence room with a controlled locker/ delivery system.  Patrol rooms, reception, break area; offices, training and interview rooms were to remain in the old structure.  At the same time the town had a strong desire to bring the structure into visual harmony with the village white clapboard structures. At the Police Chief Wheeler’s request, the addition was arranged on the site to screen the officers’ parking area and to allow discreet transportation of prisoners to and from the facility. Thanks to a significant effort contributed by the police themselves and a flexible approach by the contractor, Three Generation Builders, the entire project was realized for significantly less than comparable facility.
