Concord Community Music School

   In a preliminary layout, the music school had stretched its addition out parallel to the residential street with an equal area of parking lot along the street in front of it.  It was a very straightforward retail approach to site planning, but it seemed to us to be unsympathetic to the houses across the street, and unresponsive to the to the park.  We thought that turning the building addition end-on to the street brought down the apparent size to something comparable to the houses, reduced the impact of the parking lot, and brought up new possibilities for fronting the school on the park.
